European Short Film nominees for the EFA

THE SHORT FILM NOMINEES FOR THE EUROPEAN FILM AWARDS 2009

The final nominee has just been announced at the International Short
Film Festival in Drama (Greece):

Drama Short Film Nominee for the European Film Awards 2009

BONNE NUIT (Good Night)
by Valéry Rosier
Belgium/France, 18', fiction

In BONNE NUIT, 40-year-old Philippe, who works in a demolition company,
visits his two children. He picks them up from his ex-wife's house. But
Philippe is hiding something from his children, he is not reacting as
usual - tonight, his children will not go to sleep at home.

The film was selected by the festival's international jury consisting of
Manuela Cernat (writer/author/film critic, Romania), Nancy Bishop
(casting director, USA), Jacques Mitch (producer/director, France),
Gerald Weber (publicist for film and music, Austria), and Vassilis
Mazomenos (director/writer/producer, Greece).

The list of nominated short films is now complete. The short film
initiative is organised by the European Film Academy in co-operation
with a series of film festivals throughout Europe. At each of these
festivals, an independent jury presents one of the European short films
in competition with a nomination in the short film category of the
European Film Awards. The 2,000 members of the European Film Academy
will now vote for the winner.

The overall winner will be presented during the Awards Ceremony on 12
December in Germany’s Ruhr Metropolis.

The European Film Awards 2009 are presented by the European Film Academy
e.V. and EFA Productions gGmbH with the support of the Minister
President and the Minister for Federal and European Affairs and the
Media of North Rhine-Westphalia, Filmstiftung NRW, RUHR.2010, the German
State Minister for Culture and the Media, the MEDIA Programme of the EU,
FFA German Federal Film Board, and TNT Express.
