Moondance International Film Festival wrapped

The 10th anniversary Moondance International Film Festival was a great success, and a wonderful time was had by all! Attendees enjoyed the 71 indy films that were screened at Boulder's Dairy Center for the Arts, the Shambhala Meditation Center, and a unique, first-ever venue: inside the dome of the Fiske Planetarium, plus our popular workshops, special presentations, private consultations, and networking parties with delicious food and good company at the St. Julien Hotel terrace, with lovely contemplative music from India by Megan Yalkut; the Dushanbe Teahouse with multi-instrumental music by Jesse Manno; the Hotel Boulderado outdoor candlelit plaza, with original music by Jamie Krutz; and again at the Hotel Boulderado for the gala awards ceremony and reception, with Brazillian jazz music by John Kilburn & Paola, to close the 4-day festival.

Many Moondancers went for long hikes on the beautiful meadows and mountain trails at Chautauqua Park, where our headquarters were established in an elegant Victorian cottage. We had perfect weather all four days and nights, and a lovely double rainbow appeared in the eastern sky at the early-bird opening party, to start the festival off with a colorful blessing!

MANY HEARTFELT THANKS go to our dedicated 2009 festival staff: our festival events director, the vivacious and hard-working Cindy Laudadio-Hill; our super-dedicated and talented film screenings director, Larry Elmore; Shauna Earp, our friendly and multi-tasking workshops and volunteers coordinator; our very own hostess with the "most-est", Prema Rose, hospitality coordinator; the always-smiling and dedicated Surya Grace Rose, our registrations and ticket sales coordinator; Shawn DeMarco, enthusiastic Mermaid's Market coordinator, Linda Guard, a wonderful friend of Moondance who wore many festival hats, dawn-to-dark: awards coordinator, money-wrangler, and always-cheerful Gal-Friday to everyone, pre-and post-events; and Gena Simpson for her help, pre-festival. A million thanks also go to Stephanie Vidergar for being a great and faithful "webster" for our website for these many years, and for building our new 2009 website from scratch; brothers Assim & Mottsim Al-Khawaja for film projection duties; artist John Goyer (graphic design); our favorite reader, Cynthia Butler, for her ever-popular and inspirational screenplay critiques; Robert Greywolf Washington & Kinch Glisson for festival security; Baxter Ross (festival photographer), and, of course, to all of our ever-faithful volunteers!
