NY Independent Film Festival closing with Steve Guttenberg's A Novel Romance
NY Independent Film Festival closing with A Novel Romance starring Steve Guttenberg, Shannon Elizabeth, Milena Govich
Known for the Police Academy comedies and rumored to have Three Men and A Bride with costars Tom Selleck and Ted Danson in the works, Guttenberg told Hollywood Today, “There’s something about romantic comedies that always draw me in. A Novel Romance was the perfect combination of witty repartee with Shannon Elizabeth and Milena Govich and heartfelt struggles we all can relate to.” Written and directed by Allie Dvorin, (The Sandlot 3, Like Mike 2), A Novel Romance, (formerly titled Its Not You) follows the lives of two strangers, Nate Shepard (Guttenberg) and Jenny Sparks (Govich). As they meet and travel down similar, complicated-yet-separate life paths, they struggle with relationship heartaches, career troubles and surviving the death of a loved one. Nate and Jenny must ultimately rely on hope to make it through. Kelly Bishop, (Gilmore Girls) Jay O. Sanders (Revolutionary Road) and Doug E. Doug (Cool Runnings) round out the cast. “We are honored and thrilled to be chosen as the prestigious closing film of the NYIFF. This a New York film about New York characters, filmed right here in New York. I am so happy we get to share our indie comedy with New Yorkers,” says producer Morris S. Levy
Produced by Morris S. Levy’s M.E.G.A Films and Studio 13. Levy’s credits include David Wain’s comedy The Ten starring Paul Rudd, Jessica Alba and Wynona Ryder, Rosario Dawson’s critically acclaimed drama, Descent and the romantic drama, Kiss Me Again, starring Jeremy London and Harold starring Oscar® Winner, Cuba Gooding Jr. NYIFF’s Festival Director, Rich Rossi commented, “Our festival recognizes independent filmmaking. Our goal is to give independent filmmakers an invaluable opportunity to show their films, meet industry, possibly win awards and give New Yorkers a chance to see some of the latest compelling movies on the indie circuit.” 29.04.2011 | Editor's blog Cat. : Allie Dvorin CDATA Cuba David Wain Director Doug E.
