ShockerFest International Film Festival in Modesto

ShockerFest International Film Festival showing September 23-25 in Modesto

ShockerFest will take place at Brenden’s Modesto facility.
The festival will begin with a series of workshops on September 23 and will screen its top films on September 24 - 25 all at the first run movie house.

“Our festival has been growing rapidly in terms of number of entries and the quality of the films every year and we expect more growth this year,” stated festival director George Baker. “Last year we received over 200 entries from 15 countries and have already had filmmakers contacting us about entering their films,” Baker added. “I’ve been hearing from filmmakers and distributors that we could top 400 entries this year and that’s why it is important that we be able to screen our films at a quality facility,” Baker explained. “By moving the festival to Brenden Theaters we will be able to offer both filmmakers and fans a wonderful movie going experience,” Baker stated.

This year ShockerFest will utilize three screens as well as having access to the main lobby area for autograph signing sessions and movie memorabilia sales.

The Festival counts among its 2005 sponsors the Fireside Foundation, Inc., the Modesto Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Stanislaus County Film Commission, and Brenden Theatres.
