The Vampire Trailer Contest Comes to the Web!

Vampire Fest 2009 has a created a unique opportunity for aficionados of vampire cinema. We are allowing you, a member of the most discerning audience on earth, to help us select which films get into the festival in this special Audience Category.

The Vampire Trailer Contest has premiered on our own YouTube channel. Please join us at our revamped site at www.vampirefilmfestival.com to watch and on our YouTube channel. The films connected to those trailers with the highest ratings and comments will play the fest! We are also showing the winning shorts from previous festivals.

There will be no mysteries when a filmmaker submits to Vampire Fest. The days of a movie’s fate being left to bored interns or failed filmmakers are over. The international vampire prowls the net. Let the best trailer go viral!

Vampire Fest 2009 will take place in the beautiful city of New Orleans, from October 23rd through October 26th, 2009. Filmmakers around the globe have heard our call. Vampire Fest has already received submissions from around the country and around the world. Vampire Fest has a number of activities planned—feasts for the intellect, the spirit, and the eyes—including a literary panel hosted by writer Gabrielle Faust, as well a number of events in the Vieux Carré and the Garden District.

Submissions are still OPEN. Vampire Fest is seeking narrative or experimental films of all lengths that emphasize the grotesque, mysterious or desolate. Since the legend of the werewolf and other supernatural creatures are interconnected with that of the vampire, Vampire Fest invites filmmakers of the Gothic, zombie and werewolf, witch or ghost genre to submit their work. The trailer contest includes only a selection of films from the filmmakers that chose to participate.

Filmmakers can submit on-line at www.vampirefilmfestival.com or at www.withoutabox.com until September 16, 2009.

Please visit our site at www.vampirefilmfestival.com or contact Reel Energy at (626) 449-1902 or Vampire Fest New Orleans at (504) 298-VAMP
