As an independent film festival and convention, we are committed to presenting only the best in independent horror feature and short films from around the world. That fact alone has made the Phoenix FearCON Film Festival one of the most popular film festivals in Arizona. We expect a record turnout this year and are hoping to be able to break records as well as introduce the horror fans to some fantastic new films not yet released.

This event is a horror film festival and convention. This is our  5th year doing this event and for the first time since our inception, in October of 2012, we will be hosted at the Ultra Star Cinemas in Scottsdale, over a busy weekend in the heart of a busy, bustling city. This street is nestled in the center of  the Indian Bend Pavilions at Talking Stick in Scottsdale at Pima and Indian Bend Roads.

You can view our festival trailer at the website for this event at: http://www.phoenixfearcon.com

ABOUT THE PHOENIX FEARCON

Phoenix FearCON V Independent Horror Film Festival is a community driven event focused on the Independent horror film maker, and the obstacles they face trying to get their film projects noticed. In addition, we make our event interactive so that there is not just film screenings. We invite Charity Organizations to partner with us and help raise awareness and provide information.  We make our event interactive, not only in the screening of many micro budget films, but we offer entertainment and interactive activities for attendees.  We consider our event a "Film Festival with a Convention Attitude".

This year, our partner charities are Shanti's 2nd Chances, St Mary's Food Bank, KidTIX and Children's Hospital. Many of our Artists and Vendors donate one of a kind and collectible items to our silent auction.  All the proceeds of these silent auctions benefit the charities we support each year.

In addition, we invite local performers and local celebrities for performances and meet/greets with their fans.  Our volunteer staff work tirelessly and without compensation to make sure the FearCON is the best event visited by our guests and film makers.

Jim and Chris of Trash City Entertainment founded and finance this event purely out of pocket. We love to get involved with our community, love Horror films and know what it's like for a film maker to try to get their film project noticed by any film distributor.  Our partnership with Empress Road pictures provides a significant exposure to our film makers and gives them that opportunity to be seen and possibly discovered by a legitimate film company.

The FearCON has grown exponentially over the years, and our fans are very loyal and devoted.  One of our dear fans created the trailer video located on our site (and being screened at the Ultra Star Cinemas) and we appreciate his talent and generosity.

FearCON V is making itself more accessible to a larger audience and, therefore,  more valuable to our beneficiary charities.  Our intention is to get the word out to the thousands of fans that still have not heard of the FearCON and its ties to the Art and Film Community.

ABOUT FRED WILLIAMSON

Fred ‘The Hammer’ Williamson was an three-time AFL All-Star with the Oakland Raiders and appeared in Super Bowl I, but turned to Hollywood after his retirement from the game. His roles include Black Caesar, the original Italian Inglorious Bastards, William Lustig’s Vigilante and Larry Cohen’s Original Gangstas, alongside Pam Grier, Jim Brown and Richard Roundtree. But horror fans probably know him best as Vietnam vet turned trucker, Frost, in Quentin Tarantino’s From Dusk Till Dawn.

ABOUT TIFFANY SHEPIS
--
Born in New York, Tiffany got her start with Troma, playing Peter in Tromeo and Juliet. One of the genre’s busiest actresses (the IMDB gives her 30+ credited roles since 2010), we remember her from The Hazing, Nightmare Man, Nympha, The Violent Kind, Night of the Demons and The Prometheus Project
