2nd Global Content Bazar concludes in Mumbaiby Siraj Syed2nd Global Content Bazar concludes in Mumbai After organising the technology show Broadcast India for 26 years, Saicom Trade Fairs & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., decided to organise India's very first Content Market, in January 2017. The success of the first venture prompted the company to continue this year, and the 2nd Global Content Bazar (GCB) was held on January 19 and 20, at the World Trade Center complex in south Mumbai. Strategically, the dates are important, because by coming on so early the calendar, the event will always be the very first important market, as it falls before all major content markets of the world. In terms of content, GCB covers everything · film · television · animation · docs & shorts · virtual reality · web TV · OTT-IPTV-VOD · 3D · music · radio · interactive gaming · mobile · and more. A series of conferences were held during the two days, addressed by eminent speakers. Among the dozens of booths, two main attractions garnered a lot of interest: The China Pavilion and the Ultra Booth. China Pavilion marks centrepiece China Pavilion, which evinced great interest last year, took centre stage this year too. It is organized by The State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People's Republic of China (SAPPRFT), and co-organised by Shanghai WingsMedia. Under China Pavilion, there are 5 Chinese media and entertainment companies. Shanghai Media Group (SMG) is one of China’s largest media and cultural conglomerates, with the most complete portfolio of media and related businesses. China International TV Corporation (CCTV-CITVC) is a large-sized state-owned enterprise wholly funded by China Central Television (CCTV) and is responsible for marketing the copyrighted programs of CCTV and other excellent Chinese film and TV products. Shanghai Film Corporation (“SFC”) was jointly founded in July 2012 by Shanghai Film Group Corporation (“SFG”) and Shanghai JinWin Investment Co., Ltd. Media Caravan is a Beijing-based distribution/production company. It is currently involved in the development and production of both Chinese and international projects. Zhejiang Zhongnan Animation Co., Ltd. is one of the largest animation content producing firms in China, with over 800 hours of original IPs in TV series and movies. These leading Chinese companies brought to the India market a number of outstanding films and television dramas, animation series, movies, documentaries and creative programs, which presented a visual feast. Local media giant Ultra marks presence at GCM Ultra Media & Entertainment Group participated in Global Content Bazaar 2018 with exclusive titles & new offerings. Ultra offered an array of Bollywood, International, Regional, Animation and Children Films at the Bazaar. Mr. Sushilkumar Agrawal, CEO of Ultra inaugurated the two-day Bazar, by lighting the traditional lamp. “Ultra Cookery”: A series of video podcasts featuring healthy, delicious and easy to cook modern, traditional & multi-cuisine recipes, was one of the major highlights of the offerings. This video podcast is presented by well known I-tunes podcaster Geetanjali Advani. This show is mostly targeted towards the Young Audience, who eagerly crave for new, unexplored taste. From the regional stable, there were films in Marathi, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Gujarati & Punjabi including the much acclaimed Bengali family TV drama “Chayaritu Sath Rang” As many as 85 well known films from the Children Films Society of India (CFSI) also showcased, including some of the prominent titles like The Goal, Karamati Coat, Chhota Sipahi, Bal Shivaji, Dhoomketu , Dak Ghar, Lukka Chuppi, Rikki Tikki Tavi and others. Ultra’s extensive Hindi films database offered more than 300 films in this bazaar, including films like Andaz Apna Apna, Singh is King, I am Kalam, Waqt & many more. In Marathi there will be “Gondya Martai Tangda”, “Mukkam Post London” and others. In Bhojpuri, were “Ganga Ke Teere Teere”, “Driver Babu” etc. Bengali, films like “Teen Patti”; Gujarati films like “Baap Dhamal Dikra Kamal”, “Unchi Medi Na Uncha Mol” and others, and Punjabi films like “Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da” and more. Global Content Bazar, like Broadcast India, is largely the result of efforts by Mr. Ramesh Meer, the Managing Director of Saicom Trade Fairs & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd.
