REGULATIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN MBFF: Mobile Blockbuster Film Festival

 

Please familiarize yourself with this document in order to avoid any misunderstanding in the future.

01. Participants should be persons over 18 years of age. That is all we ask. We do not want to limit participants by their income, disability, race, ethnicity, gender or anything else.

02. Topic of movies: ‘Time Machine’.

The plot, genre and form of expression within the participation are not limited.

03. Applications submission period: August 15 - October 15, 2020 till 23:59 (inclusive).

04. Participation in the Festival is free of charge.

05. The videos which contain open propaganda of violence, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, pornographic, religious, extremist videos, as well as contrary to general human norms and principles WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
06. Videos can only be recorded (!) on a smartphone or tablet in Full HD format. Maximum 10% of the total duration can be shot by drones or action camera. Any other production equipment is allowed, such as: lights, cranes, trolleys, etc.

07. Videos must be cinematic in nature. Good quality and high resolution 1080p, and look good on the big screen. Allowed formats: mp4 (h264), mov, mkv, wmv, avi.

08. Participant can send one or several videos by filling out a new registration form for each of them, which will be considered as a separate entry.

09. Application form (indicated by the list in the body of the letter):

● Name of the author or team name
● Country & city of author
● Name of participants (actor, operator, etc.)
● Contact information of the author: phone, email, link to social network (Facebook, Instagram)
● Movie title
● Movie category
● Brand of the mobile phone on which the shooting was conducted
10. The video should be uploaded to the file hosting service. After that the link should be sent to the following e-mail: MBfilmfest.kz@gmail.com
11. Authors may use post-production software for visual or sound effects.

12. Videos can be of different types.

13. Categories:
L - Large (video’s duration 3-12 minutes)
S - Small (video’s duration 1-3 minutes)
XS - eXtra Small (video’s duration up to 1 minute)
MC - Musical Clip (music video)
SM - Stop Motion (stop-motion animation - cartoon)
DM - Documentary Movie
14. Nominations:
1) Best scenario (plot)
2) Best director
3) Music video
4) Cartoon
5) The jury’s prize
6) Best actress
7) Best actor
8) Choice of Kazakhstan Film Academy
9) People’s Choice (Award for the biggest number of ‘likes’ at the Festival’s YouTube channel)
10) Best movie (among the videos of L-category)

 

15. MBff Winners Award Ceremony will take place on October 25, 2020 in online format.

All videos will be uploaded to the Festival’s YouTube channel.
16. All entries should be unique.
The authors of the video should be the sole rights owners of submitted videos and should not infringe copyright.
17. Winner of the best movie in L-category will be awarded by 500$ (gross). Winners in other categories will be awarded by prizes from the partners of the Festival as well as statuette and diploma. The prizes will be delivered within a week after the ‘Winners Award Ceremony’ in online format (an open link to the livestream will be published additionally at the Festival’s pages in Facebook https://www.facebook.com/MBfilmfest/ and Instagram mbff_kz).

18. The authors are solely responsible for the submitted videos.

19. Authors’ consent to the use of their films or videos for demonstration.
By submitting a video, the authors give the right to MBff Festival and its partners to use the full video or parts of them for display, presentation, distribution and promotion via the Internet, television, personal presentations and other means.
20. Any invalid registration (incomplete, incorrect, etc.), or violating public law or moral standards, or provided after the deadline of the Festival, will not be considered

21. The organizers of the Festival are not responsible for issues which are not covered by these Regulations.
