MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Pittsburgh
has consistently been voted the most livable city in the USA. We would
like to celebrate international and independent films. We believe that
film as a medium can make a positive impact in the world, and the belief
that Pittsburgh and its people is the best place to make this happen.
The Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival is an international festival
that provides a platform where filmmakers can showcase their work
(features, shorts, new media, animation, music videos and
documentaries), increase opportunities for producers and maximize
potential for distribution, press and industry recognition.
ABOUT
THE FESTIVAL
The
Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival was started by Ronald Quigley
Director /Actor/ Filmmaker who now lives in Los Angeles, but was
originally from Pittsburgh. Ronald Premiered his Feature film "The Last
Act" at the Hollywood Theater in July 2011 and realized at that time
that it was the perfect venue for a film festival. Newly remodeled with
state of the art seating The Hollywood Theater has the largest viewing
screen in Western Pennsylvania, in addition to a complete down stairs
lobby perfect for and panels and discussion groups.
With
Pittsburgh (in June) as the perfect back drop The Pittsburgh
Independent Film Festival will be the perfect place to network with
fellow film makers and Hollywood insiders that we have on-board. We will
screen 12 hours a day and show more submissions than most other film
fests, so you as a film maker have a better chance of acceptance into
our festival. Sometimes a very good film never sees the big screen
because the competition is great and the festival only has a limited
venue.
Good
luck and we hope to see you at The Pittsburgh Independent Film
Festival.
