Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival Call for Entries

The Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival is Pittsburgh's own film
festival for truly independent films, and a headline event for
micro-budget and no-budget films in the USA. PIIF offers a fantastic
opportunity for undiscovered filmmakers to showcase their achievements,
filmmakers who posses an independent vision and operate to create
innovative work outside the studio system. PIIF presents the best of
low-budget filmmaking from around the world, and mixes it up with
relevant industry discussions and targeted social networking events.
PIFF uses the strength of the independent filmmaking community to put on
a fantastic festival. PIFF is an indie film festival by and for indie
filmmakers.

The 2012 Pittsburgh
Independent Film Festival will be held June 1st thru June 3rd 2012 at
the state of the art 280 seat
Hollywood Theater  Located
just a few miles from downtown. There will be one day of shorts and two
days of Feature films both documentary and narrative.  Our festival
offers more chances for your submission to be selected and shown than
most of the 3 day festivals out there.  There are  awards for each of
the following categories  - Best Feature Documentary - Best Feature
Narrative - Best Feature Animation - Best Short Documentary - Best short
Comedy - Best short - Best New Media -  Best Overall Festival
submission - Audience Choice Award. Come to Pittsburgh and network with
fellow filmmakers from around the world.  Pittsburgh is fast becoming a
mecca for film, with over 5 major films filmed there in the last year
alone.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE

Pittsburgh
has consistently been voted the most livable city in the USA. We would
like to celebrate international and independent films. We believe that
film as a medium can make a positive impact in the world, and the belief
that Pittsburgh and its people is the best place to make this happen.
The Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival is an international festival
that provides a platform where filmmakers can showcase their work
(features, shorts, new media, animation, music videos and
documentaries), increase opportunities for producers and maximize
potential for distribution, press and industry recognition.

ABOUT
THE FESTIVAL

The
Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival was started by Ronald Quigley
Director /Actor/ Filmmaker who now lives in Los Angeles, but was
originally from Pittsburgh. Ronald Premiered his Feature film "The Last
Act" at the Hollywood Theater in July 2011 and realized at that time
that it was the perfect venue for a film festival. Newly remodeled with
state of the art seating The Hollywood Theater has the largest viewing
screen in Western Pennsylvania, in addition to a complete down stairs
lobby perfect for and panels and discussion groups.

With
Pittsburgh (in June) as the perfect back drop The Pittsburgh
Independent Film Festival will be the perfect place to network with
fellow film makers and Hollywood insiders that we have on-board. We will
screen 12 hours a day and show more submissions than most other film
fests, so you as a film maker have a better chance of acceptance into
our festival. Sometimes a very good film never sees the big screen
because the competition is great and the festival only has a limited
venue.

Good
luck and we hope to see you at The Pittsburgh Independent Film
Festival.
