Brenda needs no introduction. She is the perfect ambassador to encourage the people from the town and the area she was born in and she loves, to view a broader range of movies, that they would not normally see.

She will pick the Special Brenda Blethyn Prize for the Best First Film,  from the list of selected submissions.

JAN DUNN

Features

Jan is an award winning British filmmaker, who won a British Independent Film Award for her first film Gypo in 2005.

Her film The Calling, starring Brenda Blethyn,  was released in UK cinemas 2010. For her debut leading performance in the film, Emily Beacham was awarded a new talent trailblazer award presented by Sean Connery during the film's debut, where it was also selected as 'Best of the Fest' at the 2009 Edinburgh International Film Festival.

ANDY MAYSON

Features

Andy (Co CEO of Altitude), formed the Group with Will Clarke in 2011, producing Big Game (starring Samuel L Jackson) and Exec Producing 13 films including Whitney, Kill Your Friends, The Girl With All the Gifts, 47 Meters Down and Get Santa.  Altitude also has its own international sales company having represented over 40 titles.  In 2014 it launched its own UK distribution entity theatrically releasing 19 titles to date, including Oscar winners 20 Feet From Stardom,  Amy Winehouse  and Moonlight.

Prior to Altitude, Mayson has held senior positions at Working Title Films, working on Four Weddings and a Funeral, PolyGram, Intermedia, talent management company, Artists Independent Network, Icon (Apocalypto, Alpha Dog, Bridge to Terabithia, La Vie en Rose) and Exclusive.

Mayson was a member of The Industry Working Group for Fiscal Policy advising the British Government in 2005.

RALPH HOULT

Features

Photographer by trade, Ralph Hoult is also known as Mr Ramsgate. He is a legend in Ramsgate and was named Honorary Freeman of Ramsgate Town.

Short Films

Simon Young is highly expert on short films as he works as Short Film Programme Advisor at BFI London Film Festival. He is also the Director of Acquisitions UK at Shorts International and Film Acquisitions at ShortsHD.

PETER COREY

Peter Corey is a British actor who has appeared in numerous TV and film productions. As a writer he has won two BAFTA Children's Awards and a BAFTA TV Award for the Best Children's programme with Coping with Christmas
