Young producer workshops I Third edition: ShortAkcja

SUBJECT I one-reeler – project and financing

FOR WHOM? I for last year students of production, as well as younger (in terms of experience) graduates of film schools.

STRUCTURE I This year, Young Producer workshops will have two forms: open and closed. The open part is a continuation of last year’s meetings. The closed part will be introduced for the first time, and will concern the best ten projects, in the opinion of experts, proposed by you for consultation.

OPEN FORMULA includes training in filling out applications to funds, as well as matters concerning copyright and nuances connected with modern forms of movie financing (i.e. whether a co-production agreement is in force, in the case of a project financed via crowdfunding?). The formula also includes meeting with young producers, who have already successfully realized their first projects.

CLOSED FORMULA will concern, in the broad sense, the strategy of financing in practice. The formula will include lectures, consultations with experts and master meetings on 1:1 basis. The event will end with a presentation of projects, for the representatives of film funds (pitching).

This part of Young Producer workshops is dedicated to students-producers, co-producers, or executive producers, who want to produce a short film on their own (or in cooperation with the school),who already have a complete scenario, as well as a prepared financial plan and a trial costing. Ten projects, that present a high development potential and have a significant chance of receiving financial aid, outside school system, will be selected and their authors will be invited to participation. Each project will be analysed by us in details, and discussed with experts.

About REGIOFUN

Perska Bozena
(REGIOFUN)

International Festival of Film Producers REGIOFUN is the only event in Europe dedicated to films, which were made owing to the support of regional film funds and the help of various cities. During six October days, in Katowice we are showing the most interesting feature films, documentaries and animations from the whole world, which could not have been made, if not the modern way of financing. Among thousands of titles, we carefully select those, which are moving, stunning, touching and entertaining. Our festival is a place of meetings and discussions for producers, directors, experts and representatives of regional funds from the whole world.
