As a sports and health writer in addition to my film industry involvement ,I attended the Annual Memorial day Muscle Beach Venice body builder contest which has now added a bikini contest. I was there to support my buddy , body builder Bill Howard ,who kept the tradition alive  in Muscle Beach  Venice .during the lean years and was there back in the day, at the original Santa Monica Muscle Beach which closed in 1959,along with Steve Reeves,Jack LaLanne and other well known muscle men,He was replaced by Joe Wheatley ,at  Muscle Beach Venice and Joe  has done a spectacular job and  has made it into a much bigger event with health product suppliers and many icons in the bodybuilding Industry.On this Memorial day,Joe Weider who is 90 years young, was there with his wife, Betty ,was honored ,as he should be , and he graciously donated more bleacher seats for all the avid fans. I noticed  many filmmakers shooting and I thought it was for news coverage, but to my surprise ,a Muscle Beach reality show is being created by Arthur Seidelman, a director of "Where Muscles were Born" a documentary and "Hercules in New York". I was there to connect on a documentary that Bill Howard wants to do on Muscle Beach Venice. So I will be updating all of you on the upcoming news on the this as I enjoy the sunny days of summer in Santa Monica and Venice Beach
