The SANTA CATALINA FILM FESTIVAL awards mainstream films in various categories, but the Isla Earth Award, for the Conservation Series, is presented by the Catalina Island Conservancy, our beneficiary, honoring filmmakers that have their similar mission in protecting, educating and promoting the power of nature.
The SANTA CATALINA FILM FESTIVAL brings film enthusiasts and filmmakers together to better enjoy the art and fun of filmmaking, but also to enjoy the beauty and hospitality of Santa Catalina Island.
The Film Festival offers our guests the opportunity to learn, grow and exhibit films within the unique and romantic setting of Los Angeles County’s Pacific treasure. The festival will also offer attendees quality films that will entertain, educate, and inspire their own interests. Film professionals, and the interested public, will have the opportunity to gain industry knowledge through festival activities,
education centers, and seminars with our guest speakers.
The SANTA CATALINA FILM FESTIVAL is about the filmmakers’ opportunity to entertain, educate and inspire their audience, just like the island itself.

Welcome to our blog for our films, but at the moment specifically for our latest film L'amour de Montparnasse. It's our second major short film that we worked on together. Toby as writer/director and myself as producer. Our first film Alone about the Universe is 18 minutes and a sci-fi drama. It was our first film that we sent off to festivals and at the time we were very new to the whole circuit so had no plan or strategy. We picked up two international awards for best short and excel...

Director: Chris Morrow.
Some of the biggest ideas in the world happen overnight. While CNN ireporter Chris Morrow covered the behind-the-scenes activity of the 2009 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, the last thing she expected was to stumble across one man's plans to paint the largest picture of planet earth. But 24-hours after boldly announcing his goal to do just that, renowned environmental artist Wyland put the finishing touches on "Earth: The Blue Planet:" a three acre interpretation of our world atop the Long Beach Convention Center. Using ingenuity, elbow grease, and thousands of gallons of eco-friendly paint, the prolific artist turned a dusty, dry roof into a watercolor painting that can easily be seen from the upper reaches of the stratosphere. "Wyland: Earth Day" takes you inside the creative process behind the artist and his mission as told by the ireporter who chronicled the entire event.
