Doc/Fest Session Submissions Now Open

Sheffield International Documentary Festival (Doc/Fest) is calling for ideas for sessions to run at this year’s festival which takes place from 4 to 8 November.   Each year, the Session Programme at Sheffield Doc/Fest includes keynote addresses and interviews, sessions, panels and master-classes with some of the world's leading documentary filmmakers and broadcasters. There is also a major cross-platform strand of sessions presented.   Tam Nguyen, Festival Producer, said: “Doc/Fest has always been a festival owned and created by the documentary community with dozens of industry professionals donating their time to produce, moderate and speak in a world class programme of sessions. We welcome any ideas that people think are important to be discussed at the festival this year.”  Anyone with an idea for a session they would like to produce at the festival - it can be craft-based, case studies, debates or master-classes - can submit it online until 8 July 2009.  Proposals will be discussed and selected by the Doc/Fest team and advisory committee. If your idea is selected, you will produce the session, providing an opportunity to get involved with leading people in the industry and make a valuable contribution to Doc/Fest.
