Earlier in the festival Submarine sold all North American rights to LIONSGATE and CNN Films. DINOSAUR 13 follows the odyssey of paleontologist Peter Larson of South Dakota's Black Hills Institute of Geological Research after his history-making find of a nearly intact 65 million year-old fossilized skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex they name Sue. Larson and his team became involved in a battle for the rights to their discovery involving competing paleontologists, Native American tribal nations and museums. DINOSAUR 13 was Directed and Produced by Todd Douglas Miller with cinematography by Thomas Petersen and music composed by Matt Morton.

"We are thrilled that DINOSAUR 13 has found a home internationally,” said Director Todd Douglas Miller. “We look forward to sharing our incredible true story with audiences worldwide and working with Dogwoof Global, Madman Entertainment, and Jaguar Distribution."

"We are delighted to have come on board for DINOSAUR 13 both for UK distribution and foreign sales,” stated Oli Harbottle of Dogwoof Global. “This fascinating and engrossing film immediately grabbed our attention from the moment it was announced as Opening Night Film, and with strong US and Australian partners already in place, we look forward to delivering the best possible strategy both at home and overseas."
