Sundance Raps with Lil Jon and Snoop Dogg

What do Snoop Dogg, Lil Jon and The Sundance Film Festival have in common?  The World Famous HarryO’s!

It’s Thursday, the opening day of the Sundance Film Festival.  Main Street is a breeze to drive down and the public parking lots are free - as opposed to the harsh $20 they’ll charge starting Friday.  Now I know why a local store clerk at the nearby outlet mall told my friend everyone in Park City hates us festival folk.  At $20 for parking, I’d be bitter too.

We missed our press check in and had to fend our way through the giant crowd outside HarryO’s.  The line reminded me of the kind you see outside some of the hottest nightclubs in Los Angeles.  Inside, the music was perfectly loud with decently priced $5 beers and $8 cocktails at the bar.  The crowd was pleasantly varied with locals, festivalgoers and a good sound system.

Lil Jon held up at his VIP table greeting the locals until he was called to the stage.  The crowd went wild as Lil Jon spun hip-hop and techno brilliantly mixed with, would you believe it, Oasis.  In front of the DJ booth, a dude in a comical, giant mask of Lil Jon’s face hyped the crowd up.  It was one of the most exciting DJ sessions this party girl’s ever seen.

See Lil Jon Spin

As if Lil Jon’s set wasn’t enough to end a great night out, Snoop Dogg hit the stage next with a LIVE performance.  He played covers of House of Pain, kicked it back to 1993 with some of his old school tracks and mixed in songs from his new album.  Just when the crowd thought it couldn’t get any better, Warren G steps up to the mic!  If Snoops performance at HarryO’s gives any indication of how his 2011 tour is going to be, I’m getting tickets.  This man can entertain!
