This year 18 films are competing in Tallinn in THE OFFICIAL SELECTION PROGRAMME
PÖFF has announced the Official Selection programme where 18 brand-new films will be presented to the audience by their authors personally in Tallinn. This is PÖFF's representative program, where the latest works of authors who have already established themselves in the film world are screened and are aimed at a wider audience.
This year's main competition schedule is now open to the public and TICKETS for the festive premieres are on sale at a discounted price.
Film art from Europe, Asia and North and South America is represented in the selection, as are the Philippines, Singapore, Colombia, Mongolia and South Korea. The youngest author is 32-year-old Filipino Petersen Vargas and the oldest is 70-year-old Eran Riklis.
A total of 11 world premieres and 7 international premieres are planned. "There will be an exciting program both thematically, stylistically and geographically," says Tiina Lokk, the director of the festival. "As always, there are all kinds of genres our Official Selection Competition. At the same time, we don't select films solely on the basis of genre, as the genre is rather a tool of expressing a message."
PÖFF launched the first-ever AI film recommender
|
|
|
The brand new AI assistant and film recommender Susi knows the PÖFF programme inside out. Susi is dedicated to helping you find the films in the festival programme that match viewer's unique preferences.
PÖFF is setting a groundbreaking precedent as one of the first film festivals in the world to adopt AI technology to enhance audience engagement. By integrating an AI-powered personal recommendation system, PÖFF is revolutionizing the festival experience, allowing viewers to navigate the festival's extensive film offerings in a more personalized and efficient way.
"A festival-goer can now avoid the overwhelming task of manually browsing through the schedule and instead let the AI recommend films based on their interests and previous favourites," says the Head of Administration at PÖFF, Mikk Granström.
Susi helps users not only discover new films but also select events from Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event’s extensive conference and business programs.
