“TEENAGERS” Wins Accolade Competition 2010
"TEENAGERS" Wins Accolade Competition 2010 The feature "Teenagers" of the Productions Forever (Paul Verhoeven, France) has won a prestigious Golden Award of Merit from The Accolade Competition (La Jolla, California). This award was given for the exceptional quality and the convincing solutions to social issues about young people: violence, delinquency, suicide, terrorism, homophobia, etc.
The Accolade recognizes film, television, videography and new media professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, and those who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound social changes (what is absolutely the aim of "Teenagers"). Entries are judged by highly qualified professionals in the film and television industry. Information about The Accolade and a list of recent winners can be found at www.theaccolade.net. So you will see that "Teenagers" was the only one French feature film to be awarded.
In winning an Accolade, "Teenagers" joins the ranks of other high-profile winners of this internationally respected award. Thomas Baker, Ph. D., who chairs The Accolade, had this to say to about the latest winners : " The Accolade is not an easy award to win. Entries are received from around the world. The Accolade helps set the standard for craft and creativity. The judges were pleased with the exceptionally high quality of entries. The goal of The Accolade is to help winners achieve the recognition they deserve. "
For "Teenagers", it is indeed not the first award : "Best Actor" (Paris), "Special Mention of the Jury" (Brussels), "Prize of Excellence" (SkyFest III) ; it was the main film at London for the "Youths Day" and was in competition at Philadelphia, Granada (Spain), San Francisco, Strasbourg (France); it has been invited in July 2010 at the New York International Film Festival. There exists a Short version (20'), selected at Schull (Ireland), Paris, New York ("Special Mention granted by the Jury"), Punta del Este (Uruguay).
As incredible as it seems, this great film is still looking for sales agents, distributors, TV, theatres. More on www.foreverprod.net & www.foreverprod/teens-press.doc.
NB : there is now a 2011 version, some scenes shortened, some new scenes, new music. There is also a version for dubbing available (with sounds and music, without dialogues).

About teenagers
Verhoeven Paul
(Forever Productions) Beside not very commendable teenagers, there exist some others, but who are never showed… Now, these young people, like Lucas, Alexis, etc, can have a beneficial influence on the youths adrift, and even make them better. But sometimes it is necessary to agree to pay the full price, like the corn grain which must die to bear fruit… It is what this film shows, film at the same time dramatic and full with hope, inspired from real facts. Film selected at : Philadelphia (US), Granada (Spain), London Portobello (youths section), Brussels (Belgium, awarded with "Special Mention of the Jury"), Golden Gate festival San Francisco, Paris (award as Best Actor), Strasbourg, SkyFest USA (Prize of Excellence), invited at the New York IFF July 2010.
