Temecula, CA, (March 17, 2011) --The Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival is back, bringing you the coolest films and music from the best of contemporary filmmakers and music artists from all across America and around the globe. The Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival's mission is to enrich the human spirit through film and music by nurturing, supporting and showcasing independent, emerging film and music talent.
The festival is open to US and Foreign films in five categories: Full Length Features, Shorts, Documentaries, Animation and Student Films. To be eligible, a film entry must have been completed in 2009, 2010 or 2011. Entries for all genres of music, from rock to pop, jazz to hip hop, Latin to Folk to World to Country, Reggae to R&B are all considered.
Filmmakers and Musicians participate in the Festival for the opportunity to get maximum exposure for their films or, in the case of musicians, exposure to producers, film/ TV music supervisors, directors, agents, publicists - people who have the ability to help boost their careers in terms of possible film, TV and commercial placement / soundtrack deals.
The festival's social calendar starts with Opening Night Festivities, followed by daily & nightly filmmaker/musician receptions, film and music industry workshops, a spectacular, star studded Black Tie Awards Gala, amazing After Parties and Best of Fest special screening presentations and much more.
Last year’s festival highlights include the showcasing of 22 full length features, 20 documentaries, 103 combined short films, student films, animation and showcases, 20 music artists from 22 countries and over 25 US cities and states.
Opening Night was, spectacularly festive from beginning to end. Directors, producers and actors of over 100 films and music artists rode in amazing vintage cars and walked the red carpet – adding to the glamour ambience of Opening Night. Camp Pendleton actively participated again with US marines and their color guard contingent in full dress blues regalia.
Another highlight was the showcasing of the 48 Hr Project of San Diego and 48 Hr Project of Inland Empire productions that were either filmed in Temecula Valley, San Diego and Riverside counties by San Diego and Riverside Co. based filmmakers.
Black Tie Awards Gala attendees were treated to an impromptu mini concert by honoree Kenny Loggins on acoustic guitar and his presenter, record producer David Foster on the piano. Other honorees included: Eric Roberts, Outstanding Career Achievement, Actor , Raquel Welch, TVIFF ICON AWARD, San Diego State Univ., Distinguished Institution Award. Presenters included famed Wrestling Champ and Actor, Steve Austin for Eric Roberts; SDSU’s Randy Reinholz for San Diego State University and City of Temecula’s very own, Councilmember Jeff Comerchero for Raquel Welch.
The Annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival is presented by Cinema Entertainment Alliance, a nonprofit arts and education organization dedicated to celebrating world cinema and music.
