The Fingal Film FestivalThe Fingal Film Festival will take place from the 30th September to the 2nd October 2016 at Pavilions Centre, Swords, Co Dublin. Now in its fifth year, the Festival connects emerging voices in film with industry experts and independent creative filmmakers from around the world. The programme will feature shorts, documentaries, and animation as well as student and international films, Irish language films by emerging and established filmmakers, which will be in the running for the prestigious awards. There is a total of nine awards up for grabs this year. The categories are: Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best Feature Film, Best Animation Film, Best Student Film, Scannán Gaeilge Is Fearr (Best Irish Language Film) and Best Fingal Newcomer (Director / Writer / Producer). The ninth category is for Outstanding Media Achievements (Documentary / Journalism / Director / Producer / Writer). Some awards contain amazing cash and brand sponsorship prizes, so start submitting your film TODAY. Submissions are open NOW. MISSION STATEMENT - The mission of Fingal Film Festival is to provide a quality venue, encouraging and promoting the works of local film community, national and international emerging filmmakers. The mission of the festival is to enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience. EDUCATION - Whilst our predominant focus is to support and develop relationships with Fingal’s emerging film makers, the festival also offers a diverse culture screening schedule, with 25%% of screenings coming from international emerging filmmakers’ creative works. FILM MAKERS - Creating opportunities for filmmakers through connections with industry professionals & one-on-one guidance. We strive to garnish talent by giving emerging filmmakers access to some of the world’s leading Industry Professionals during the festival through training groups and workshops. Submissions open NOW 2015Fingal Film Festival prepares for launch of fourth year with an amazing line up of National & International screenings and events.Following a very busy 2014, Fingal Film Festival Organisers are back at their desks preparing for this years spectacular event kicking off this Sept. Submissions Open Now deadline for submissions is 30th June 2015, the festival panel are already viewing some amazing content for this years festival, which is due to take place in Sept 25th 26th 27th Sept 2015 venue to be confirmed in the coming weeks. The team will also be announcing an amazing line up of Industry professionals and award prizes also who will be facilitating this years workshops.
