Tuesday, October 10---The 2nd annual Turks and Caicos International Film Festival opens next week with the premiere on October 17 of a documentary film portrait of a unique gospel talent. THE DONNIE MCCURKLIN STORY: FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT is an inspirational concert docudrama about the extraordinary yet controversial life and times of world famous gospel singer Donnie McCurklin.

The gospel legend will be attending the Festival to perform in concert. On film, McCurklin is joined by Beyoncé, The Winans Family, Andre Crouch, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adames, Bishop T.D. Jakes, David Foster and Magic Johnson.

The Festival is unique on the festival circuit in its dual mission to salute excellence in both film and music. Thirty films--musical profiles, concert films, documentaries and even a few unique feature films---will be presented at the weeklong event. The Festival will also present a number of information seminars, giving attendees a chance to network. Filmmakers, musicians and industry professionals are flying in to attend this unique "meeting of the minds" between film and music.

Feature films, documentaries, live music concerts, glamorous late nite parties, the pink sands of the pristine Turks and Caicos Islands beaches....excitement is certainly building for next week's launch.
