Strangelove Filmfest is a yearly event in Antwerp where the public will be taken into the underbelly of cinema. ‘Strange’, ‘cult’, ‘weird’ and ‘gender’ are the terms used to define a story. The festival offers a very rich choice of movies, shorts, documentaries and classics from Queer Cinema. A treat for the movie lover!
First and foremost a film festival, Strangelove does also offer a tasty platter of music, performance and visual art. Every evening we serve smiles and food (volxkeuken) in the bar where you can sit back and enjoy some gigs, video-installations, theatre, expositions or performances. This unique combination serves a broad spectrum of culture lovers who adore surprises. An invigorating festival for everyone!
This festival is an initiative of Interzone vzw who stimulate and spread audiovisual art.
The third edition of Strangelove – a Queer Festival will take place in March 2013 in Antwerp. The purpose of the festival is to promote queer cinema, performing arts, fine arts, literature and music. Traditionally, we open the festival with an exhibition. This year we’ll be looking out for artists who give their interpretation of ‘queer’.
If you want to submit a film, shortfilm or show us visual information, please send us a screener or a digital portfolio, with some inf...

In this way, artist Kelvin K. Park's documentary Cheonggyecheon Medley places the threatened demolition of a tr...

He has appeared in over 35 feature films, including THE NORTHERNE...
With the festival passing the midpoint the discoveries and revelations keep on coming. One of the best sections has been an eight unit overview of Flemish language films, a national cinema based in Antwerp which is all but unknown outside of Belgium and is easily confusable with Dutch cinema because the Flemish and Dutch languages are as similar as British and American English -- but also as different! -- The standout of this section is "Rosie -- Een duivel in mijn kop" (Rosie, A Devil in my Hea...
