IndieBOOM! Festival

Festival
Festival presentation:

The IndieBOOM! Festival is now accepting short films and videos in all categories, and unproduced screenplays. Submissions are open until Nov. 3. IndieBOOM! runs from Dec. 18, 2017 – Jan. 5, 2018 streaming worldwide, online at indieboomff.com and on a Roku channel with over 16K subscribers. Created by the award-winning Art of Brooklyn Film Festival http://aobff.org

We’re in the middle of a new indie boom, and it deserves a new kind of festival. IndieBOOM! helps you promote your work and increase your fanbase, which you take with you as you crowdfund and pitch future projects. Category winners are chosen by view count, with the overall most-viewed selection winning $500. A jury of industry pros will award a Jury Prize to their favorite selection, regardless of views. All winning films and videos will also receive a one-year, non-exclusive distribution deal on BKOD. http://brooklynondemand.com

Our winning screenplay will receive a professional consultation with a Los Angeles based story analyst and more!

About The Art Of Brooklyn

Eden
(The Art of Brooklyn)

The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival (AoBFF) is the only international film festival that’s all about Brooklyn‐born, Brooklyn-based and Brooklyn-centric films and filmmakers. The AoBFF screens films from all over the world whose makers live, work in, or are inspired by Brooklyn’s independent film scene. We welcome submissions from everywhere, just tell us how you or your film are connected to Brooklyn.

What makes the Festival stand out from other opportunities available to filmmakers? *

Unlike other festivals that are just located in the borough, The AoBFF is the only independent international festival for, by and about Brooklyn indie film—a local scene with a global influence. For example, in addition to films from Brooklyn-based filmmakers, we have screened a documentary by an Italian filmmaker about a Hassidic Brooklyn rapper, a Turkish film inspired by Brooklyn’s diversity, a horror film by a Brooklyn-born director who lives in Australia and a Canadian feature film shot entirely in our borough. Every year we focus on a select group of filmmakers in one of the most important emerging settings for independent film in the world.

Since Brooklyn is home to so many artists we have created a special category for experimental films that defy genre classification: Film As Art. We designed Film As Art to showcase artist-made works on film and video that are rarely seen outside of gallery settings. Each year we present the Vanguard Award for outstanding achievement in this category, to support experimentation and encourage envelope pushing in independent film.

Our filmmakers have their work judged by industry professionals. The AoBFF judging panel includes the actors Annabella Sciorra and Eric Mabius and directors Elliot Lester (Blitz) and Demian Lichtenstein (3000 Miles to Graceland); noted film scholars like Annette Danto and Mary Engel; and prominent festival professionals like actor and curator at Michigan’s prestigious Waterfront Film Festival Christine Elise McCarthy (ER, 90210) and Terry Nelson, Festival Director for the Beacon Independent Film Festival.
