Rabbitfest - international animation festival

Festival
Festival presentation:

RabbitFest is an international animation film festival, created in 2010 by the cultural association SKUNK with the aim of fostering an interest in animation in Italy.

The festival has always remained faithful to the philosophy of free entry in order to facilitate the dissemination of its cultural message. It consists of three days of screenings, based on a conception of cinema not just as entertainment, but as a visual and educational experience enabling people to get to know the best international animation.

In fact, the first aim of the association is to promote feature and short films that have not been distributed in Italy and are therefore unknown to the general public.

During the past four years, RabbitFest has screened award-winning international works from all over the world, including of course Italian animation.

One of the characteristics of the previous editions has been the choice of a common theme to all the selected works. Until now, such themes have been: Lost and Found, New Beginnings, Disturbances and Perspectives.

Last year, SKUNK also organized its first international competition for animated shorts, with the participation of more than 300 works from around the world. The artistic direction of RabbitFest selected 25 short films from amongst the entries and awarded a 500 euro prize to the best animated short of 2013, as chosen both by the audience and the association.
