Year after year, CIFF has become a Cambodian can’t-miss event for filmmakers and cinema lovers. In 2017, it expands and diversifies its program and consolidates its established reputation. It is a great honor to announce that Mrs Angelina Jolie will pursue her support for Cambodian artists by taking on the honorary position of Patron of the Cambodia International Film Festival.
CAMBOFEST: The world has once again taken an interest in Cambodia as a safe, fun, and unique cultural destination. Our aim is to contribute to the development of moviemaking in Cambodia by showcasing work by both international and regional filmmakers.
CAMBOFEST: Film and Video Festival of Cambodia is the first international, independent movie festival in Cambodia (and currently the only annual international movie event in Cambodia)
Now entering our 4th Edition, CAMBOFEST sets a standard for the region by screening all movies only with the permission of filmmakers/copyright holders. Our aim is to contribute to the return of a viable movie industry in Cambodia by showcasing movies by both international and local Cambodian filmmakers - and in the process, entertaining and 'edutaining' a whole new moviegoing audience.
Our most recent, 3rd edition took place in a vintage pre-Khmer Rouge cinema house which CamboFest staff discovered in Kampot, on Cambodia's South CamboFest brought that movie house, the Royal, back to life especially for the event - and truem pioneering movie magic was experienced by all festgoers and participating filmmakers.
