About the Director:

Gal Ziv made his first steps in the movie business while he was eight years old, when he invited friends and family to screenings of Disney films he organized in his parent's house. His improvised movie theatre utilized a GAF View-Master projector, received as a gift from his uncle. Very soon Gal acquired a reputation as a young filmmaker among anyone who has made his acquaintance.Throughout his childhood Gal made short films and when he was sixteen he made "Lavan", a 25 min. chase-film, shot in his native city of Herzeliya.During the next few years he continued writing and directing short films and eventually decided to move to Los Angeles. In 2002 Gal completed his degree in cinema production at the L.A. City College, and in the next few years he gained valuable experience working on sets and at various Hollywood studios. Upon his return to Israel Gal spent time as assistant director with famed Israeli director and producer Menahem Golan. He currently does editing work for Israeli television, and produces and directs infomercials, instructional films, commercials and promos for different production companies. In the meantime Gal has been working on a number of original projects. RomanticA, a short film influenced by the artworks of Edward Hopper, and was screened successfully at film festivals around the world. His recently made short, An Afghan Night, made in collaboration with writer director Ran Levi, is a sci-fi comedy that won two awards at the 48 hours film project, in Tel Aviv. The film was widely praised for its original use of the Sci-Fi genre in a comedic setting, and for its inventive use of the cinematic language in a low budget production.Gal is a devoted film buff, and is determined to make films that are quite different than what is commonly seen.

Film synopsis:
Liat (Liat Harlev) and Kobi (Kobi Faraj), a young Israeli couple, live in the city of Tel Aviv with their dog, Rickey. Without telling Liat, Kobi takes Rickey to participate in illegal dog fighting, after winning the first fight, Rickey gets away. Kobi tells Liat that their dog ran away, but fails to mention what occurred befor. Soon enough they receive a phone call from a guy who claims he found their dog. The guy doesn’t give too many details about the find and leaves the young couple unsure whether the dog was really found. Kobi feels uneasy about the guy and decides to go and meet him by himself. But then, a mysterious phone call turns everything upside down. Findher, directed by Gal Ziv, is a short paranoid thriller which showcases a strong Tel Aviv city vibe and quick turnaround scenes, in a very tense urban setting.
