Monster The Short Film

Rich Johnson is a filmmaker and animation editor. His film work includes "My Friend Barry", a live action web series that uses stop motion and live action. Rich was interviewed for My Friend Barry and published in the book, “The Advanced Art of Stop-Motion Animation”, by Ken Priebe, where Rich explains how he was able to combine the live action performances that were improvised with a stop-motion animated character in the same scene. He has also produced and edited an up and coming short narrative film; “Monster”, that was the winner of the 2010 Vancouver hot shots screenplay competition. Rich is currently producing the last details of the visual effects for Monster, slated to be complete in late June of this year, 2011. As an animation editor Rich has worked on numerous award winning animated series at Nerdcorps Entertainment for clients, Alliance Atlantis, YTV, Cartoon Network, BBC Kids, Disney U.K., and Mattel among others.
