About the Director:

Michael began directing films at a young age while growing up in Hobart, Tasmania, winning the Tasmanian Television Award for his college productions. After completing a Communications [Media] degree, Michael worked as a Commercial Producer at Channel Nine, Canberra before moving to Sydney.

Teaming up with writer Edmund Jory, they collaborated on the short suspense film INTERCHANGE, which to date has screened at over 25 festivals worldwide and received a slate of awards including; Best Film at the Eye Scream Halloween Film Festival, Best Editing at the Fearless Tales FIlm festival and Best Thriller at the Int. Festival of Cinema & Technology.

In 2009 Michael and Edmund established High Noon Films, a production company developing both film and television productions. Their first project DEATH IN THE GARDEN (DITG), has found success on the international festival circuit screening at Comic-Con, the largest comic and popular culture arts convention in the world. DITG was also a Fantasy Finalist at Dragon*Con, as well as winning Silver at the Australian Cinematographers Society NSW Awards for DOP Nicola Daley.

DITG was closely followed by the TV pilot DON’T TURN OUT THE LIGHT, a docu-drama series re-creating chilling encounters with the paranormal.

Michael continues to direct and develop an array of productions in the lead up to the supernatural thriller feature film, Darker After Midnight.
