New Black God: The History of Oklahoma Eastside
Oklahoma's history is rich with humor, love and heartache. A people displaced upon Statehood overcomes obstacles in spite of itself. This history is so wonderful and full of folklore as we look at the lives of those who dared to live their dreams. Jim Crow Laws passed immediately upon Statehood. Did it hinder the people? No, they rose up to work and play as they built a neighborhood! 2 Black Hospitals, black elementary school, and a high school referring our History. Sharp teachers that challenged all of us to be strong-minded and strong-willed in a world where the deck is stacked against many.
