BuSho (Budapest Short) was established in the autumn of 2004 by a group of young Hungarian filmmakers and the first event successfully ran its course the following year. The festival became an international breakthrough in an exceptionally short period of time: we got 360 individual entries from 45 countries in 2009.
We had plenty of festival screenings, selections of film academys, feature films, conferences, film-, and all-art workshops in the program.

Director Jan Hřebejk picked up the Golden Kingfisher for best feature film and the Audience Award for Kawasaki's Rose at the closing ceremony of Finale festival of Czech films held in Plzen on Friday, April 23.
