'La Vitesse Et La Pierre' is an epic short film created with audio and still images. A film about the restrained Iris and the fleeting Bernard and the solitude that unites them. The filmmakers wanted to make the process into an adventure. The film is shot in Western Sahara, Stockholm, Sweden and Norway. Along the 3000 kilometres, which they drove through West Africa, they slept in the trunk of their car outside deserted towns, burned shoes in the desert and had long discussions with African border police, about whether photography can be art. This was to explain why they had 30 kilograms blue dye in the luggage. 'La Vitesse Et La Pierre' is the result of an experiment that explores the intersection of film and photography. - The boundaries between the traditional roles of director, photographer and actor in this production are dissolved. The result is a humorous, poetic and highly visual journey.

One Portrait, Two Countries, Three Lives: The Life Story of Author Osman Necmi Gürmen Even starting from his familial roots, Turkish author Osman Necmi Gürmen lived caught between the two poles of East and West throughout every phase of his life. From a childhood in the environment of the Ottoman palatial court to a youth in the ruins of post-War Paris which remains one of the primary centers of Western knowledge and lifestyle; the remarkable course of Osman Necmi Gürmen’s life then took him to the extremely arduous conditions of tribal life in a village in Eastern Anatolia, where he found himself drawn into the middle of a bloody struggle for power. His life was defined by an aristocracy caught between the East and the West, a Western bourgeoisie reborn from its own ashes, and a feudal lifestyle that remained unchanged for centuries despite the ideals of the young Republic. He was not an “outsider” in any of these environments; he attempted to fulfil the social requirements and became a proprietor of each. Osman Necmi Gürmen is a man of letters who writes novels in French in France; he was also a feudal lord who was at the heart of a tribal battle for power in Siverek; he was one of the handful of intellectuals who founded a haven in Bodrum for what was to become one of the most important retreats for the petit bourgeoisie of the Turkish Republic after the 1960’s; and he is also an author who writes in Turkish, drawing inspiration from his own life and the extreme moments of Turkish history.

His naive ideas about heroism are rawly confronted with the hell of the African desert, complicated relationships in his unit and the ubiquitous threat of death. All this takes its cruel toll in the shape of his gradual loss of self respect and courage. He is full of self-confidence and patriotic ideals, yet at the same time is deeply frustrated by his father, whom he views as a collaborator. His closest companion is a Jewish soldier, Jan Lieberman, in many ways more mature. Their opposite, in turn, is Corporal Kohák, a former member of the French Foreign Legion, for whom warfare is above all a profession The psychological drama between these three characters, the differing attitudes and personalities of each of them, are, during the course of the story and most clearly in its dramatic climax, brought into confrontation with a clear and harsh test of the moral character of all. The plot of the film is freely based on the classic American novel “The Red Badge of Courage” by Stephen Crane, first published in New York in 1897.

Our hero, Dionysis, is 34 years old and lives with his mother. He is quadriplegic and suffers from a slight mental retardation. He loves Sunday “strolls”, singing, talking on the phone and secretly drinking coca cola. His future is uncertain. In his own words: “Today’s society is a very tough place to live. Ok, our parents will eventually go but what is there left to see for us children?”

“I should be given the title of Summa Cum Laude bum”, states Ramon Rojas to camera in the first minutes of this documentary portrait shot in the streets of Buenos Aires by visual artist Maria Rosa Andreotti. Musician, street poet, bum by own choice, anarchist, Rojas is one of those urban characters so marginal to the system that is virtually invisible to a majority of society. “Ramón Rojas – Sueños de chozas” [“Ramón Rojas – Dreams of huts”] looks at the experience and outlook of a man whose culture is his haven and his value of survival. The documentary looks into Ramón’s paradoxes as well as at the decisions to which one may be driven, almost to the limit of losing the most intimate thing we have – the right to privacy, to fantasy and hence, to individual freedom, for all of which a home or a refuge is absolutely necessary. Re-discovered by Andreotti’s camera, Rojas is featured as an essential part of the current social and economic Argentine landscape.

White Men Cant Dance Synopsis This film White Men Cant Dance is a family oriented story based on hope, inspiration, dancing, morals, dignity and ultimately God is brought into this film. A large part of this film is based on a true story. This film White Men Cant Dance is about a very close family that go through some very tough and emotional struggles. The story takes place in a little home with the husband, wife and precious little girl, which the father Pete works at a development company. His office is very comical, but yet, they all work together as a family. Pete is very close with his parents, but only has a mental relationship with his father. His dad is an inventor, a genius that everyone calls, Einstein 2. One day at the office Pete gets a call from the hospital, his dad is on the way to the hospital and his mother will meet him there. Immediately, Pete leaves the office right in the middle of a very significant investor meeting, which is crucial to the companys existence., But Pete needs to be at his dads side, torn, he leaves the meeting regardless of the reluctance of his boss. At the hospital his father dies in Petes arms waiting for a surgeon that never comes. (based on a true story) This devastates Pete and his family. Almost in a zombie state, the next day Pete goes to work at his job, trying to keep his mind busy and food on the table After his dads funeral Pete finds out that his precious little girl is dieing. She has to go on a waiting list, do to the lack of kidneys, not to mention the expense. After insurance, what little they have, Pete has to come up with $50,000 more to pay the hospital. They dont know what to do, after his dads death they were strapped, his dad had no life insurance of any kind. After a few days Pete is back to work, the guys in the office try to talk Pete into going out to a club just to change the scenery, make him forget for a few hours, with his wifes blessings, they take him out. They get to this club Rox and there we see this black guy dancing, Ice Man he is an incredible break dancer. The guys are freaking out over his abilities, but Pete wasnt impressed. Pete got up to go to the mens room and does a little move, Ice Man came up to Pete and said that he remembered him. He said he remembered how good he used to be, but now he is too old and fat, a pushing match started. During this shoving match Pete sees a banister saying, Dance Competition $40,000 first place. He tells Ice Man that he will see him at the competition. The guys break up the shoving match and are wondering what that was all about. After being escorted out by the bouncers, they take Pete home, wondering if they did the right thing taking him out. Pete thanks them, and tells them that this was the best thing that could ever of happened, it must have been Gods plan. At home Pete finds some of his old dance tapes of him and his partners, inspired, he calls his old dance buddies to ask them if they could help him get in shape one last time for the competition of his life? Of course to save his daughters life. They agree and the intense working out starts, (like when Sylvestor Stellone did in his movie when he went to Russia to work shop, preparing for the fight of his life) so Pete is now struggling to get back into shape. He would slip out at night to go work out with his dance partners. His wife was starting to wonder if he was having an affair. As a result, she gets her best friend involved as a scout for her to find out what is going on. Next day Pete walks into work finding out that he is fired. A fellow worker steals his invention saying pete was stealing it from him. So Pete is fired. Now, it is the night of the competition, Pete goes to his daughters room and kisses her on the forehead after tucking her in, praying to God, very emotional scene. He goes up stairs to the attic and opens an old door where his old dance shoes are hanging, all dusty. He pulls them out, brushes them off and goes out the door to the competition. Meantime, his wife freaking out, calls her best friend and says ok follow him now, on that pre-planned, non trust investigation. She follows him to the competition. At the competition all these dancers are stretching sizing up one another, trying to psyche each other out. We see the judges, two of the four judges are Ice Mans dance buddies, so we know which way this competition is going. The dance competition starts, after 30 minutes it is down to two competitors, Ice Man and Pete. They go back and forth, the crowd is slowly changing from their Iceman and start screaming for Pete. Then, in nervous retaliation, Icemans two dance partners come out on the dance floor and join in dancing. So, Petes dance partners, moon walk and slide out on the dance floor with him to make things even. But one of Petes dancers gives the DJ his own CD on the way out there. The DJ immediately puts it on. They all are going at it, it is incredible, very physical and intense, then the last move. Pete runs up Ice Mans back, doing a double flip down to a split on the floor waving out his arms to a stop. The crowd goes nuts. Moleman is a documentary diary about the independent subcultures of a bustling Central European capital, Budapest. Under the cultural surface of the metropolis lies a flourishing art life, and alternative recreational activities are available. There are many who do not follow the mainstream taste, and do not fall for the temptation of the commercial media. The originators of Budapest’s subcultures and their audience represent hundreds of thousands of people. These subcultures and artists should not be underrated or disregarded. Moleman chooses five characters from this world, and allows us to peek through their eyes into a culture and lifestyle that lie out of the realm of celebrities, that is other than Pop Idol or the soap opera „Between Friends” or the pop band Hooligans. But it exists, creates works and is taking shape.

Steven is torn between the loves of two women, each of them pretending to be somebody else. The danger only intensifies when Steven comes face to face with the Russian Mafia. Soon he will discover who he really is. On another level the story suggests an amazing reading of the state of the post modern/post communist world. Are we witnessing certain realization of Dostoevsky’s prophecies – especially as far as the Underground Man’s dilemma regarding Love/Terrorism is concerned?..

Without telling Liat, Kobi takes Rickey to participate in illegal dog fighting, after winning the first fight, Rickey gets away. Kobi tells Liat that their dog ran away, but fails to mention what occurred befor. Soon enough they receive a phone call from a guy who claims he found their dog. The guy doesn’t give too many details about the find and leaves the young couple unsure whether the dog was really found. Kobi feels uneasy about the guy and decides to go and meet him by himself. But then, a mysterious phone call turns everything upside down. Findher, directed by Gal Ziv, is a short paranoid thriller which showcases a strong Tel Aviv city vibe and quick turnaround scenes, in a very tense urban setting.
