Digitalization has revolutionized the book industry and that has sparked concern and heated debates in both Germany and the United States. Over 2,000 writers in both countries have protested against the cut-throat pricing policies of online book retailer Amazon and its massive influence on the market. The e-book is well established on the US market. In Germany, however, the book is treasured as a time-tested means of preserving knowledge. What is the value of the book in the digital age? A film team sets out on a transatlantic journey to find out. They visit Germany, where Gutenberg invented the printing press over 550 years ago, and the United States, the hub of digital innovation. About IFFLA
The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) is a nonprofit organization devoted to a greater appreciation of Indian cinema and culture by showcasing films, supporting emerging filmmakers, recognizing the leadership of entertainment industry performers and business executives, and promoting the diverse perspectives of the Indian diaspora.
Each year the festival is held at the ArcLight Hollywood and features a rich mix of film programs designed to build and support the growing interest in the Indian entertainment industry. This includes programming that cultivates an audience for Indian films while supporting filmmakers of Indian descent in career development as they navigate the larger studio system in Hollywood. Winter Film Awards Indie Film Festival focuses on the diversity of independent film, and offers an exciting mixture of film genres, viewpoints and subjects in order to give attendees the opportunity to see films they might never think to seek out. For the 2015 Festival, 76 films from 29 countries were selected for screening, including 34 by female directors and 20 student films. Works of all genres, forms, and lengths are considered for Festival screening. Much like New York City itself, the Festival brings together the kaleidoscope of personal experiences into a glorious and energetic whole.
WFA 2015 Festival Submission categories include Narrative Feature, Foreign Language, Narrative Short, Documentary, Animation, Music Video, Horror and Web Series categories. Outstanding work will be awarded for each category, along with Best Director, Best Actor/Actress, Best Original Score, Best Student Film and the PERSPECTIVES Award for best depiction of the multi-cultural experience.
Winter Film Awards (WFA) is a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer-run and operated organization which celebrates diversity of local and international film-making. Their focus is on showcasing emerging filmmakers from every age, ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, political and geographic perspective and providing a stepping stone for all filmmakers, from students with blossoming careers to established industry veterans, to screen their work in front of a large audience and gain recognition for their achievements.

In the future there is a co-existence of two Earths. When Nuka arrives to the original Earth she has a mission: Return Otto. Nuka is on her search whilst she is documenting information about the human urban lifestyle. Finally she finds Otto, living comfortably in this new world. He explains how he doesn’t want to return to their planet, and shows her the beauty this new Earth has for them. They both begin to live a different life, which is suddenly disrupted.

mountain people, sports, environment, cultures and societies from various
corners of the world KIMFF seeks to celebrate the complexity and diversity of
mountain life.
We are, at the moment, soliciting
entries for the festival, and we hope you can participate by sending relevant
films you may have directed or produced in the last two years. We look forward

Africa in Motion is already in its sixth year! The profile of the festival has grown steadily since the inaugural season in 2006 and this year, 2011, Africa in Motion focuses its attention on films and events that open doors to children and youth in Africa.
Our programme of films and events deals with many aspects relating to youth, such as education, entertainment, stories and myths, the future, and social issues affecting children and young people in Africa.
This year we made a special effort to invite schools and children to the cinema and we are screening a number of films especially for primary and secondary schools in and around Edinburgh, in collaboration with National Schools Film Week.
Alongside the film screenings, the festival has endeavoured to create fun and challenging workshops and events for Scottish children to really engage with the lives and experiences of their African counterparts and get to learn the stories best known to them.
The rest of the festival will be dedicated to our well-known quality films: epic features, contemporary gems, incisive documentaries, acclaimed shorts and animation films, with a continuing focus on children and youth in Africa.
