BAKUNAWA FEST (formerly Bakunawa Young Cinema) is the first fantastic and genre-based film, art & music festival in the Philippines and the longest-running fantastic filmfest in Southeast Asia. Bakunawa is a mythical dragon-like creature in Philippine mythology that devoured moons. Because we are a genre-bending film fest, we want to flip the Bakunawa's role and we want it to instead symbolize the creative monsters inside us.
Bakunawa Festival has an annual film camp and series of film workshops for young Filipino filmmakers that culminates into a section of our festival, producing mostly genre films (horror, sci-fi, fantasy, folk, noir, folk, etc). The films that the film camp participants produce competes in a unique section created for young filmmakers.
Bakunawa Fest loves new visions, new voices. We support young promising filmmakers, artists and musicians who either have no access to expensive workshops and may not have the name/recognition to be programmed in a festival. Since our third edition, we have included a section that screens curated local and international films - mainly for educational purposes. Most of the Bakunawa Film Camps are done as outreach programs/workshops and are hosted by different cities in the Philippines.
During the pandemic years and lockdowns from 2020-2022, we have temporarily migrated to mostly online screenings but, in 2023, we shall conduct more live screenings following health protocols. For our tenth edition, we will do a semi-hybrid festival wherein we screen more films in live venues and do a limited program online.
We also continue our partnership with SolarFlix TV wherein we show curated film programs on Philippine Primtime TV, screening to Filipino audiences all over the Philippines reaching to millions of viewers.

The Cittador International Film Festival in Vienna is an annual two-day event presenting international, European and Austrian independent short films. Our Film Festival was created with the goal of showcasing and honoring emerging film talent, inspiring and entertaining audiences, as well as motivating filmmakers and inspiring film lovers. We aim to discover and highlight current cinematic themes and endeavors worldwide in short film. Therefore, we show films as a palette from all film genres, so that a comprehensive cinematic picture can be created for the film audience. It is important for us to hear the opinions of the filmmakers, to give a space for their thoughts and to share their visions with the audience through an interview. Our festival is addressed to all filmmaker who love inspirational, high quality, engaging, original, and imaginative short films like we do.
Cittador International Film Festival considers short films up to 30 minutes length.
The live cinema screenings of the winning films will take place at the beautiful Studiokino Lugner City in Vienna, Austria.
During nine days, Videoex presents in its 24th edition more than 150 international and Swiss works. In addition to the extensive competition, it curates retrospectives, special programs, discussions and a supporting program of live acts and installations. Various workshops will introduce adults as well as children and young people to the medium of film. From Switzerland, we will be showing the experimental and Super 8 films of Zurich filmmaker Anka Schmid, which were made in the turbulent 1980s, as part of the CH Focus. Artist and this year's Artist Focus Rosa Barba creates sculptural, bizarrely beautiful images of human inscriptions in nature. For the Artist Specials, three artists will be represented at the festival: Lawrence Abu Hamdan makes forensic hearing visible, Neïl Beloufa tells of content decomposition and colonialism by means of a formal break with cinematic conventions, and Basma Alsharif interweaves geopolitical landscapes such as her native Palestine with human existence. While the Swiss and International Competitions provide a representative snapshot of experimental filmmaking, the major guest program Arab Wave is dedicated to the artistic and cinematic works of the Arab Mediterranean.

Director: Dmitri Frolov.
Two completely traditional couples of lovers on a warm summer night make a kind of coming-out in front of each other, telling about their hidden impulses from a previous life.
The impetus to making the film was the book of the same name by the Russian religious philosopher Vasily Rozanov, who died 100 years ago. His treatise was devoted to the study of sexuality and its denial in Christianity.
The film was made in the style of experimental films of the 1920s with a non-linear narrative full of strange surrealistic images. He is black and white and devoid of dialogue. The image is based on the music of Alexander Scriabin "The Poem of Ecstasy", composed and performed also at the beginning of the 20th century.
CinemaZERO rejects, and in its own way reverses, the industrial cinema formulas both in the means of production and in the aesthetic and narrative models followed: it looks for an artisanal and experimental approach to the video work, demonstrating an individual and autonomous research on one’s own idea of cinema and on language, on themes, on structure, on direction and/or on the realization of one’s own work. All those productions realized in imitation of abused industrial and...
