Amfar 2009: A Glamorous Night for a Great Cause

Amfar's 2009 'Cinema Against AIDS' gala, set at the Hotel du Cap in Antibes was packed with more than enough star power.  Although the du Cap is a new venue for the event, things seemed to run smoothly as the guests ate, drank, and bid on Chanel Segways all for a good cause.  We hear that this year's party raised approximately 1.6 million dollars, though this sum pales in comparison to last year's reported 7 million dollars raised for Amfar.   So just who was there?  Why, everyone of course...

    AmfAR, the American foundation for AIDS Research, will hold its 15th annual 'Cinema Against AIDS' fundraising gala on May 21, 2009.  For the first time, the black-tie dinner and auction will be held at the Eden Roc Hotel du Cap and will feature remarks by Bill Clinton and Annie Lennox.  Tickets are pricey but it all goes to a good cause; over the years the event has raised over $19 million dollars for AIDS research.  The auction this year is set to include Clinton's ...
