The Boss Baby review by Siraj Syed: These guys sure have bawls!
Cutie cutie. Coochie coochie. Cooey cooey. Too muchy muchy! Fun, funny. Listen, honey, it’s ‘Big brother’ v/s Baby brother. Baby Corp v/s Puppy Corp. It’s a gooey gooey, gagaey gagaey mess of gawpaw, but so adorable, aw. Aw-struck. Amazing animation. Hilarious declamation. A good outing for the vacation.
Calling all babies, baby brothers and sisters, parents, baby-sitters, corporate ladder-climbers, carto...

One of Hanifan’s Work

FEATURE-LENGTH FILMS
The Festival welcomes submissions for feature films in narrative and documentary categories. All selected features will participate in the festival’s MAIN EVENT competition. We strongly believe that a film from any category could take the Festival’s 2014 Best Feature award, be it Darkest Before the Dawn, Cinema Mavericks, the Dockect or any category. Entering all films into the MAIN EVENT puts everyone on an even playing field in the completion and recognizes the best from across all different styles and genres in the independent film community.
In addition, however Mirage International Film Festival offers filmmakers several competitive sub-categories designed specifically to recognize excellence within various genres and help promote the various styles, methods and techniques that populate the ever expanding world of cinema.
-
Main Event - main competition program for all eligible feature-length films
-
Darkest Before the Dawn - dedicated to showcasing feature-length genre films
-
Cinema Mavericks - feature-length films with budgets less than $1.5 million USD
-
Newcomer - available exclusively for first-time, feature-length directors
-
WorldCine - feature-length films which were financed and filmed outside of North America
-
The Dockect - non-fiction feature-length documentary films
SHORT-LENGTH FILMS
The Festival offers a robust competition program for short films, divided into institutional and non-institutional categories.
New Media Marvels Competition Category
Mirage International Film Festival's New Media Marvels competitive program is designed to bring attention to the emerging world of new media. With the growing prevalence and wide reach of online streaming video sites, the internet is providing filmmakers with an easy and affordable avenue to present their alternative media to a global audience.
New Media Marvels is designed to recognize and reward exceptional work in the expanding new media landscape. With the increasing number of success stories of TV series, films and documentaries being developed and produced based on new media content, the Festival's New Media Marvels program provides a solid forum for these new age filmmakers to showcase their stories and network with distributors, producers and industry executives.
Film Blueprint Competition Category
All epic projects start with a vision. And like the building of monolith skyscrapers that dot the city landscape, the first step in realizing that vision is putting your ideas on paper... as blueprints. This concept resonates strong in Mirage International Film Festival’s Original Screenwriting competition Film Blueprint.
We believe that all great films started as great scripts! Film Blueprint seeks to discover the next generation of great writers and provide a forum to highlight and recognize their scripts. This competitive category is judged by a distinguished panel comprised of top literary agents, screenwriters and development executives.

THE VEGAS CINE FEST FILM FESTIVAL ROLLS OUT THE RED CARPET AT THE TROPICANA HOTEL AND CASINO
The friendly and inviting atmosphere at the Sundance Channel Headquarters made it one of my happiest places to be during the Sundance Film Festival. Festival pass holders and filmmakers who registered for the lounge were invited in for free drinks, cookies and the occasional lunch.
All sorts of people relaxed and mingled in the two floors of the lounge while live broadcasts were conducted up stairs next to the Funny Face Photo Booth where you got to dress up and take silly, photo b...

On February 15th, 2009, Mr. Eric Kaufman of Premier Sports and Entertainment in Santa Monica, California emailed a polite NO answer, to our request for the services of Laila Ali in August 2009, in Saratoga, N.Y. I was personally very saddened, but the note was polite ,and stated that she had other committments. You win some and some you loose. I will always be a fan of Ms Ali and believe she is a beautiful woman. We had offered her a 6 figure salary and a small percentage of the film. We shall c...
It is back to Las Vegas for me, at the present time. I am busting my backside to get this film underway. I have a part for Wayne Newton , as a crew member from my past! I do not want him to sing any of his hits. I really want him to act, in a way I personally believe, he can! I will continually update Fest21 members and guests on the movie's progress. I am still waiting for Premier Sports to get back to us on Laila Ali. It has only been one week, and I know she has a new baby. I hope she and h...
I was very young when I met Frank Sinatra.
I was out in Vegas in 1969 for the first time and would go out every 6 months or so. I went a lot after 1973 when I got rid of my business partner Tony. He was a pain with his constant complaining so we severed the partnership.
It was in the Fall of 69 that I first met Mr. Sinatra. I was in the Desert Inn having a drink when someone told him I worked for Meyer Lansky. Moe Daliz did not want me to ever start up with people because all my ol...
