CYIFF CYPRUS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

CYIFF - Cyprus International Film Festival History

CΥIFF operates within the network of Cultural International Film Festivals and is the first internationally oriented film festival which offers new and upcoming directors in multiple sectors of entertainment (such as feature films, short films, animations, music videos, dance films and video art) the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a jury of internationally acclaimed cinema experts, directors and actors.

The awards are the "GOLDEN APHRODITE", production and crew services, shooting equipment facilities. Equally unique is the condition that these prizes must be utilized for their next project and spent in Cyprus and/or Greece. The volunteers are eligible to scholarships in prestigious Universities and Film Programs.

The 'CΥIFF - Cyprus International Film Festival - Golden Aphrodite' is the brainchild of a group of dedicated individuals, event organizers, film producers, cinema experts, multimedia and audio visual specialists.

The Cyprus International Film Festival - Golden Aphrodite takes place annually, since 2006, on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Cyprus. It was inaugurated by Minister of Education and Culture Mr Pefkios Georgiades and is supported by the Ministry of Tourism in Cyprus.

The Cyprus International Film Festival - Golden Aphrodite is the biggest both of glamour (red carpet, black tie) and of artistic high value cinema event of the whole region spilling over Cyprus' boundaries and spreading over the whole region with repercussions reaching worldwide.

CYIFF has a competitive section. Films produced the last 36 months, by emerging directors are selected for the screening program.

CYIFF promotes both Cypriot film directors and Cypriots artists living abroad through the film category "Nostimon Imar" and awarded Cypriot Film Directors, as well as Cyprus as a new cinema travel destination. The festival and the parallel events create an important meeting place for Cypriots and foreign filmmakers.

Now seeking
aspiring actors and presenters for Opening & Closing Ceremonies CYIFF – CYPRUS
INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Cyprus International Film Festival is now happy to promote more young talent
with our new Acting and Presenting division

The European Year of Volunteering is both a celebration and a
challenge. It is a celebration of the commitment of millions of people in
Europe who work in their communities during their free time without being paid
– for example in schools, hospitals, and sports clubs, protecting the
environment, culture, providing social services and helping people in other
countries. Their efforts and those of the many thousands of volunteering
organisations make a huge difference to our lives in countless ways. The world
would be much worse off without volunteers! The EYV is also a challenge to the
three-quarters of the European population who do not do any volunteering.

We, in Cyprus International film Festival, would like to celebrate once
more and show to everybody that they can also make a difference by inviting you
to join our enthousiastic organising team of professional volunteers since the
year of its inauguration, 2006!
