Pintando La Comunidad
For Victor Ochoa, art is meant to empower, educate, and create dialogue in the community. This documentary explores the work and ideas of this Chicano artist and activist.

HIGHLIGHTS:
"I joined the Chicano movement to become more aware. I took classes in Chicanismo to learn more about the history of injustices and racism like I had experienced. It hurt so much to be made fun of. Those are the things you go through; things you never forget!"- Herminia Acosta Enrique (Techitzin), Founder of Ballet Folklorico en Aztlan and co-founder of San Diego ’s Centro Cultural de la Raza
"I wanted to be involved in making a change in the community, and improving the condition of the communities I grew up in. I had a passion for justice, something that I learned from my parents."
- Roger Cazares, Former President & CEO of MAAC Project

"When I did my first mural it was almost a magical experience. I knew right then and there that's what I wanted to do. Whenever we did something it had to do with our roots, our history, and issues - the whole thing." - Victor Ochoa, Chicano Artist & Activist

"If there's anything I'd like people to remember me by, its that there's been a priest for 37 years called "El Padrecito el Barrio," who loved them and their families. They were my family. My legacy is Love!" - Father Richard Brown
