Fantasporto SCHEDULE on MARCH 7TH AND 8TH (THURSDAY AND FRIDAY)...

 

 

Fantasporto 2024/44th Porto International Film Festival presents the program of this new edition . The festival takes place at Batalha Centro de Cinema from the 1st to the 10th of March and shows around 100 films from 34 countries , all unpublished and, in debut national , European , international and even worldwide . They will be Most of the directors and crews of the films in competition , well as representatives of producers , sales agents and media _ international and Portuguese .

As always the program includes 4 competitions : the main one, Fantastic Cinema with 30 feature films , one section that includes another for short films , Directors ' Week , Oriente Express dedicated to Asian films and the Portuguese Cinema Award competition .

Welcome to Porto in a period fantastic that we will live during the entire festival given that the last campaign week _ electoral for parliament and whose act election will take place on March 10th , the day on which the festival displays some of the award-winning films .

Born in 1996 in Porto, he is a director self-taught , with training in engineering IT and experience in the field military . Fascinated with cinema, he began since early to create his “standalone” production for the type of projects he always wanted accomplish , becoming self- taught in several areas technical and artistic . After several _ short amateurs over the years , he concluded in 2023 its first feature film , “Best Cop Ever ”.

 

If there is a surprising film in Portuguese cinema, it is this one. Made with obvious sense of what cinema is, the film is a production extremely ambitious , made without support financial , over 3 years in which director João Bruno takes over most of the aspects creative and image , namely directing , writing scripts , VFX , effects specials , prop making and concept art, as well as the interpretation of the main role .
