Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

'Living is Easy with Closed Eyes' gets 6 Goya Awards

The beautiful film telling the story of this English teacher who travels Spain ti meet John Lenon at a set in Almería and ask him to add lyrics to his LP´s. Based on a true story written and directed by David Trueba who won this 2 Goya Awards(Best Director and Best screenplay). Javier Cámara won his first Goya for Best Actor for the portrait of this teacher and Natalia de Molina won hers as a New Actress.  The sixth Goya was to Pat Metheny for the Best Original Score.

The Gala was hold in Madrid last Sunday with the participation of the majority of the cinema industry and the biggest absence of the Spanish Minister of Culture for the first time since their creation, 28 years ago. Outrageous!

Although Las Brujas de Zugarramurdi (Witching and Bitching )got the most number of Goyas,8, all were technical but the one Terele Pávez won for Best Actress in a supporting role.  Roberto Alamo won in the men´s same category.

Marian Alvarez was the favorite in all pols and she got it. The non- written rule that that who wins the Silver Shell at the San Sebastian Film Festival, wins the Goya was once again accomplished.

The Gala apparently was long and boring. Sorry, I was at the press room and we don´t get to follow it well so I´m not going to express my opinion.

I strongly recommend you to watch Living is Easy if you have the opportunity.
