Call for EntriesDo you know that weird feeling? The tremor in the eyelashes, the glassy look, this throbbing desire for something new and different? A clear case of withdrawal symptoms. There is only one remedy. New “Sehstoff”. Your films. From October 15th on, all our analog and digital mail bags are open for your latest works. Whether experimental, narrative or documentary, they should only be shorter than 30 minutes. Submit for our competitions (International, NoBudget, German, Hamburg) and celebrate with us the short film as the best remedy against boring cinema experiences at the 32nd Hamburg International ShortFilmFestival from May 31th to June 5th, 2016.
And for those films for young audiences: the 18th Mo&Friese Children’s ShortFilmFestival takes place from May 29 to June 5 2016 and is looking for films suitable for an audience from 4 to 18 years old Deadline: 4th February 2016
Three-Minute Quickie Competition 2016 Our quickest competition provides the shortest shorts and filmmakers each year with a homework assignment: Create a movie with a maximum length of three minutes on a specific topic. Topic 2016: Switch off! Like many aspects of the German language, the verb “Abschalten” is rather confusing for non-native speakers. Among its many meanings are: to switch off, to power down, to extinguish, to relax, to unwind, to disable, to log off and to unwind. It’s up to you which meaning you go for: You can power down a nuclear power plant or turn off your cell phones or consoles. You may switch off the mailbox, pop-ups or show us how to relax from stress or your pain. You can be personal or political, online or offline. So go ahead, and document, animate or stage it. The audience at the 32nd International ShortFilmFestival is the jury and awards 1000 euros for the best Three-Minute Quickie. Deadline Three-Minute Quickie: 1st April 2016 04.11.2015 | Hamburg ShortFilmFestival's blog Cat. : Call for entry
