PLUS CAMERIMAGE PRESENTS DOCUMENTARY FILMS COMPETITION

Documentary Films Competition "Image of the World - World in Images"

is organized in collaboration with

 

 

For this year’s Documentary Films Competition, held within the Documentary Films Section of 'Image of the World - World in Images' under the patronage of Discovery Networks Central Europe,
the entries were accepted for two separate categories: feature-lenght
and short. The decision on which movie will be awarded the Grand Prix - the Golden Frog
will be made during the Festival by an international jury, separate for
each category. Furthermore, independently from the jury, the patron of
the Documentary Films Section will grant the statuettes of Discovery Networks Central Europe.

From November 27th to December 4th in Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz
the fans of documentaries will have a chance to see the movies screened
at IDFA, Silverdocs, Berlinare and Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto.
For the Documentary Films Competition we have lined up 12 feature-length
documentaries and 22 short ones.

FEATURE DOCUMENTARY FILMS COMPETITION


Feature documentaries will be judged by:

  • Jay Rosenblatt (Jury Chairman) , director, editor, producer, Human Remains, Darkness of Day, King of the Jews, The Smell of Burning Ants
  • Midge Costin, sound editor Crimson Tide, The Rock, Armageddon, Con Air, Professor in the Art of Dialogue and Sound Editing at the School of Cinematic Arts, University of Southern California
  • Nancy Schreiber, cinematographer, Dead Beat, The Celluloid Closet, November
  • Lawrence Grobel, writer, author of biographies of Marlon Brando, Truman Capote and others, lecturer at UCLA in Los Angeles
  • Michael Chapman, cinematographer, Raging Bull, The Fugitive, Taxi Driver
  • Marcin Koszałka, cinematographer, scriptwriter Reverse, Till It Hurts, The Welts, at this year’s Plus Camerimage he’ll present The Declaration of Immortality
  • Barbara Bilińska, Channel Director Poland, Discovery Networks Central Europe
