Who is your festival doctorHello, my name is Rebekah and I am currently working towards a PhD in film and audience studies, which is a case study on Quentin Tarantino. Since the age of 17, I have been a P.A. to various different types of company directors and a C.E.O. I began working for the Abertoir Horror Film Festival four years ago, shortly after it was created. The festival has recently become (which we are very proud of) a member of the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation. Since then I have gained experience, and understood the workings of, both large and niche festivals including Festival De Cannes, Edinburgh International Film Festival, The Times London BFI International Film Festival and several niche festivals including Dead by Dawn, Celluloid Screams and Phantasmagoria. I absolutely love my job, one of the most rewarding parts is when we discover an unknown film and then see it grow after it has been screened to our audience. In addition to the above, I am also an occasional producer (including a promo to advertise the Abertoir Horror Festival and upcoming feature films Zombie Drunks and Infected) and film writer for SexGoreMutants, Fangirltastic and Buried.com. Although I can promise that you will receive a high quality personalised service, one thing I cannot guarantee is that your film will definitely get picked up by a sales agent and be accepted into every festival we submit to. I will do everything I can in the hope that it will and help create a buzz for it but, as we all know, the film industry is an uncertain business. My other employment with the Abertoir Film Festival has involved discovering interesting features which have subsequently been picked up by a sales agent, including Umbrage, Resurrecting the Streetwalker and Colin. However, The Film Festival Doctor has no business connections with Abertoir. Any work undertaken by The Film Festival Doctor is neither endorsed by, nor subject to, any special involvement with Abertoir. Rebekah has excellent organisational skills. She is very forward thinking and can see when a good business opportunity arises. Combined with the way she interacts with people makes her a true asset to any company".
