There is a group of films hidden to the public. Films that don`t interest the big cinemas.
Films distributors reject. This is film from a group of young filmmakers who are independent in their ideas, not just in their sources of financing.
Virtual keyboard solidarity alone will
not sustain Haiti's recovery. Tangible projects are needed on the
ground with medium and long-term focus.
The
critics should not forget that the 60-year old Berlin International
Film Festival started at a time when Germany was dotted with World War
II rubble. The Sundance Film Festival started on a very modest footing.
The theme of the maiden edition of CineAyiti International Film Festival is “Cinema and National Recovery.”
Before
the quake of 12 January 2010, Haiti had one film festival (Festival
Film Jakmèl) on the Southern Corridor initiated by the respected Ciné
Institute. There existed also a young but vibrant home video scene with
inputs from the Haitians in the Diaspora (USA, Canada, UK, France).
This
"CineAyiti International Film Festival" in Cap - Haitien on the
Northern Corridor, seeks not to only complement the Southern Corridor
event but also support the emergence of a diversified Haitian Audio
Visual Industry after the quake of 12 January 2010.
Many
film-making countries like the USA, UK, Canada, China, South Korea,
Germany, France, South Africa or Nigeria have more than five different
annual film festivals each.
Therefore,
Haiti having two film festivals - the "Festival Film Jakmèl" on the
South in Jacmel and "CineAyiti International Film Festival" on the
North of the country in Cap-Haitien is a positive development and the
winners will be the Haitian and international creative talents.
By
submitting your film, getting your accreditation or becoming a patron
,you contribute towards the sustained concrete recovery of Haiti's
motion pictures industry.
Cineboards is based on the notion of the chance encounter and presents a single maker every evening on the Schouwburgplein for three weeks, from sunset to 01:00 a.m.
In the course of its brief albeit successful history, cinec has developed into one of the leading European film industry trade shows. Moreover, the stage is set for cinec 2000 to become the definitive forum for international movie makers and cinéastes.
Monthly short film screenings starts March 2006 and runs every month.
Cinecipó takes place at Serra do Cipó, a natural paradise in Brazil southeast, in the middle of brazilian savannah. We receive shorts and features, documentary, fiction, experimental and animated. Our focus is in enviroment and social causes cinema.

This festival embarked in the period of 15 - 24 November 2002, on the initiative of the famous Spanish film director Pedro Almodovar and Viviane Redding, nowadays vice-President of the European Commission, responsible for Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship and in the year of 2002, member of the European Commission, responsible for Education, Culture, Youth, Media and Sports. Since than, “CINEDAYS”, evolved in a festival that celebrates European film tradition, positioning Skopje, the main capital of Macedonia as the main anchorage for true cinema loving fans. In these past nine years, with every successive edition of the festival we tried to go beyond ourselves, however, at all times, having in mind the one thriving concept: presenting to the ever hungry audience with the finest and most rewarded European film achievements. The International European film Festival “CINEDAYS” became a major film happening which promotes European cultural values and traditions, putting the key emphasis on the European cinematographic heritage, development and nurturing of cinematic culture in general, and above all, offering to the film loving audience the chance to see the latest European film achievements directed by fresh and thriving. Worthy of mentioning is the fact that “CINEDAYS” is the only festival of any character established by the famous Spanish director, and also, the only festival of European film that happens in our country.
Each year, the main program of the festival is consisted of several segments: Competitive program, Gala program (or OFF Competition Program), Cine Balkan program, musical documentaries, Cinema for the Youngest, Short films program and numerous cinema related workshops.
