"On 17 May the film "La Danza de la realidad" of Alejandro Jodorowsky was presented on "premiére". 16 years old teenager I was already a fan of Jodorwosky and of course after many years of silence I could not miss one of my favourites.
The films of Jodorowsky has accompanied our youthness and with "The Thief of Rainbow" with Peter Toole (Hollywood) it looked that the filmography autor works war finished, but no...at last a new one, a will?

If you’ve never actually been here and if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like, there is only one thing you need to understand about the Cannes Film Festival. No matter how mad you think it all is, when you get there, the truth is even madder. Cannes is a quintessentially French film festival where all the deals are done in English. For two weeks in May, every Taxi driver in town doubles his fairs and the seafront is given over to men with fake tans and...
The Croisette heated up considerably on opening Friday of the Festival, as new venue TORCH at Vegaluna beach played host to the Official Launch Party for new Danny Trejo movie THE DARKNESS DESCENDING. The party, held to introduce the film to international buyers and distributors was a hot ticket, and packed out, as guests were treated to exclusive clips from the upcoming movie, played throughout the venues 40ft screens, before a mind-blowing performance by various fire-dancers and artists ...

As you know Cannes was rainy this year, perhaps 5 days of it, on and off, and its not really a fun place to be in the rain, as there are not many overhangs nor places to just hang out til the rain passes. The sidewalks become full of water and its impossible to avoid soaking shoes and pants, since the rain falls at an angle. You really just want to give up, because you never pack a raincoat when thinking of the sunny cote d'azur. It was on one of these days, tha...
Day 1 at Cannes started bright and early, if maybe not a little too early for me. By the time we got to the hotel the night before, it was midnight, and by the time we had unpacked and washed off the filth of travel, it was after 1am. Even though I luckily fell asleep pretty damn quick, my body was woken up at 5.30am for some strange reason. I spent the next 90 minutes lying there hoping to fall back asleep, but I guess knowing what was about to come, kept me up.
At 7am when the alarm ...

As part of the Short Film Corner, the Cannes Film Festival offers a series of panels and workshops for young filmmakers. I applied and was selected for one such panel. It was called, ‘Coup de Pouce’, which roughly translates to ‘helping hand’ or ‘a push in the right direction’. My advisor was Roland Nguyen, head of the short film acquisition at France 3 television; we dis...
