CALL FOR ENTRIES: ANIMATED COM AWARD 2013

Stuttgart – There’s a reason to celebrate in 2013: The Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS) will take place for the 20th time! The Animated Com Award as one of the most important amongst a multitude of competitions in the course of the ITFS 2013 is now open for submissions in the field of applied animation.

Animated Com Award: The Animated Com Award awards the standard of excellence in the field of animated advertising, technology and spatial communication. “COM” stands for both the words commercial and communication. Amongst the partners will be the Art Directors Club Germany (ADC). Films to be submitted for the Animated Com Award must be produced after October 01, 2011.

Special Award Mercedes-Benz Classic: Silver Arrows
As part of the Animated Com Award of the ITFS 2013, a Special Award is offered by the Daimler AG again – aiming at the myth of the „Silver Arrow“. All interested national and international filmmakers – students from film and animation schools as well as young companies – are invited to animate the famous German Grand Prix racing cars of the 30s and 50s in a personal and innovative way. The passion for car racing should be visualised and expressed in a playful manner. All techniques ranging from 3D computer animation to 2D cel animation and Stop Motion are accepted. The maximum length of the films mustn’t exceed 5 minutes.

The Animated Com Award is endowed with prize money of about 18,000 euros in total.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 01, 2013

Information on the terms and conditions, the competition categories and the awards as well as entry forms can be found on the Festival’s homepage www.itfs.de/en/home/competitions/animated-com-award/call-for-entries-2013/

The award ceremony will take place on April 26, 2013 in the Mercedes-Benz Museum.
