Gulbagge
Awards
Although his film Together
has been acclaimed worldwide, and was the top draw at Sweden's box office,
the film did not get a nomination for this year's Guldbagge Awards, the
country's Oscars. Some people wonder if this is retaliation for the fact
that Moodysson gave the finger to the audience at the ceremony two years
ago. Hmm …. Whatever the reasons, his film did pick up nominations for

One
week and counting…..the 2001 edition of the Sundance Film Festival begins next
week as the official kick-off to the film season, and one can feel the tension
mounting as filmmakers, sales agents, distributors and PR agencies work against
the clock to get their media campaigns ready for the big unveiling.
Perhaps because it comes so quickly on the heels of the relaxed Christmas-New
Year's period when the industry is at its lowest ebb, the Festival always...

The first box office champ this year was Cast
Away, about a Fed Ex employee who gets stranded on an island with nothing
but a Wilson volleyball to keep him company. It was quite a week for Tom Hanks'
latest film -- in addition to leading at the box office, the Wilson volleyball
'co-star' used by Tom Hanks sold for $18,400 in an online auction of movie props,
reported the Internet Movie Database. In other box office news, What Women
